Description
Players: 1 - 4
Age: 14+
Time: 90 - 120 Min
Have you heard about the Barbarossa campaign? Logistics were the key to either failure or success.
In 1941: Race to Moscow, you take command of one of the three German Army groups and advance towards Moscow! The game is based on the system used in 1944: Race to the Rhine, but the gameplay is much deeper. Armies are divided into armored and non-motorized, transports composed of trucks and trains. And the enemy — the Soviet army — is terribly strong.
1941: Race to Moscow is a prequel to 1944: Race to the Rhine, which was nominated for the Golden Geek Award in the Best Wargame category in 2014. It's a game of logistical ingenuity and relentless competition. You take on the role of a quartermaster so that your armies can advance east and reach their objective points before your opponents' armies do.
However, the road to Moscow is not paved with roses. Mud - a sticky hell that grinds your tank load to a halt, enemy forces whose defeat will cost you not only the last bullet in your magazine but also the last drop of fuel in your gas tank, tactical dilemmas and careful calculations about how the completely stalled railways need to be rerouted - all this and much more awaits you in the plains and steppes of western Russia. Not to mention the unmistakable, nerve-wracking feeling when your troops are just a stone's throw away from their objective and suddenly there's no more ammo left.
